St. Johns County officials survey some of the damage caused by the storms that swept over Florida

St. Johns County officials inspected some of the damage left by the storms that swept across Florida.
Some places that had to be closed to prevent transmission of disease, such as the pier and beach driving, have since re-opened.
After declaring the beach safe for driving from Ocean Trace Drive to Mary Street, signs were put up telling beachgoers to remain careful, for the sand conditions were still kind of flaky.
Despite this, there are still parts of the beach that remain closed to driving, and the beach will be patrolled to pick up debris and walkovers will be graded, so that the next few days will still be disrupted.
St. Johns County Public Affairs Office reported minor flooding and no damage.
Before the storm, residents were still concerned about the beach erosion renourishment project that started in August.
said Williams. Officials will also be out to observe the erosion.
On the Florida Department of Transportations Facebook page, they had people out there looking at the Matanzas dunes, and they said, too, that the dunes are doing great. They commented on what a good job the dunes did.
County says; that although FDOT has someone looking at the dunes, they will have someone checking themselves.
