Brock Edge Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – North Florida baseball makes it consecutive seasons with a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District selection as outfielder Brock Edge was tabbed to the team as announced by the national organization Thursday, May 12.

The graduate transfer from the University of Florida, Edge has been a huge addition to the UNF lineup this season. In 47 starts, Edge is hitting .317 with 39 runs, 58 hits, 14 doubles, three triples, four home runs and 24 RBI.

Edge also made program history by hitting safely in nine consecutive at-bats during March. 

The Lake City, Fla., native touts a 3.82 GPA in business analytics after earning his bachelor’s degree at UF. Edge was one of two ASUN outfielders tabbed to the team, joining FGCU’s Brian Ellis.

2021 ASUN Baseball Player of the Year and ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Alex Kachler made it all the way to CoSIDA Academic All-American status last season. 

Edge and the Ospreys continue their season tomorrow night at Jacksonville.

The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. 

The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
