Baseball Announces Full 55-Game Slate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida baseball is excited to announce its complete 2022 schedule, featuring 55 games, 33 at home and 23 contests against 2021 NCAA Baseball Championship teams.

The Ospreys play 47 of 55 games in the Sunshine State and 15 different opponents across eight conferences. Of the 33 home games, 15 come against ASUN teams and 18 in non-conference play.

“Our staff did a great job of putting together this year’s schedule and we are looking forward to a challenging 2022 season,” head coach Tim Parenton said. “We are excited to be playing a full schedule again and to have 33 home games. With 23 games against teams in last year’s NCAA Championship, we have a good opportunity to play against strong competition and be prepared for our ASUN schedule.”

Non-Conference Home Stand
Outside of a February 23 game at Florida, North Florida plays 14 of 15 games between February 18 and March 9 at Harmon Stadium, beginning with a three-game set against Presbyterian February 18-20 to open the year.

It’s the second time in three seasons UNF opens the year against a Big South team at home after playing VMI to open the 2020 season.

North Florida follows that up with a midweek game against UCF Feb. 22 before going to Gainesville Wednesday, Feb. 23.

UNF continues its home stand with a gauntlet of games. North Florida hosts UCONN February 25-27, Florida on March 1, USF the next day, Boston College March 4-6 and Butler for two games March 8-9.

For the first time all year, UNF plays back-to-back road games when it goes to UCF March 11-12. The Ospreys host UCF Sunday, March 13 for a single game and FAMU March 15 for the last game prior to ASUN play.

ASUN East Division Competition and Longest Road Trip of the Year

The Ospreys open a challenging ASUN format with a three-game home series against Liberty March 18-20 in a rematch of the 2021 ASUN Championship Semifinals.

From March 22 through April 5, all nine of UNF’s games will be on the road as the Ospreys take on their longest road trip of the year. After a single game at FAMU March 22, UNF goes to Kennesaw State March 25-27, The Citadel March 29, Stetson April 1-3 and USF for one game April 5.

It’s the first time UNF has played at Kennesaw State since the 2018 season, and the second time in two years the Ospreys and Bulldogs have met in Charleston.

River City Rumble and the Second Half

The first full series of the second half of the year features Jacksonville at home April 8-10 in round one of the River City Rumble. UNF follows that up with a game at South Carolina April 12 and a three-game series at FGCU April 14-16.

After a home game against The Citadel April 19 to finish a home-and-home, North Florida plays its final regular season games outside of Florida in a three-game set at Liberty April 22-24.

Discluding a home game against UCF May 3, 12 of the remaining 13 games are in ASUN play after UNF plays three-game sets against Kennesaw State (April 29-May 1), Stetson (May 6-8), Jacksonville (May 13-15) and FGCU (May 19-21). The series against Jacksonville is the lone set of that group not at Harmon Stadium.

The 2022 ASUN Championship is set for May 25-28 in Fort Myers, Fla.
