Hendricksen Named Preseason All-ASUN, Ospreys Tabbed 7th in Coaches Poll

ATLANTA — The ASUN head basketball coaches selected North Florida hoop standout Carter Hendricksen to the Preseason All-Conference squad as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. The Ospreys were tabbed to finish 7th in the league as projected by the coaches and 6th according to the media poll.

Hendricksen, a junior forward from Lexington, Ky., was named first team All-ASUN  and ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year last season. He led the Ospreys and ranked fifth in the ASUN for scoring at 14.9 points per game. Ranked third in the league for three-pointers and 19th in rebounds, Hendricksen reached double digits in 13 of the 16 games he played, while also topping the squad with five games of 20 or more points including a career best 24-point effort versus Liberty.

Liberty’s Darius McGhee was the unanimous choice as the Preseason Player of the Year and Kevin Samuel of FGCU was chosen the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
