JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After leading the ASUN conference with 10 saves and holding hitters to a .174 batting average, righty closer Brandon Reitz was named to the NCAA Division I American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Southeast All-Region Second Team as announced Wednesday, June 16.
Reitz was the lone relief pitcher tabbed to the southeast all-region second team.
The Ocala, Fla., native registered a 1-2 record, 10 saves, 24 strikeouts, 26 innings worked and a 2.42 ERA.
His 10 saves tied a UNF DI single season record, matching Tyler Stohr’s mark from 2008. A .174 opponents’ batting average was the third lowest mark in UNF DI single season history.
He posted seven saves against ASUN opponents, including four against Stetson, two versus Jacksonville and one in postseason play against Kennesaw State. He also secured saves at No. 21 Florida State, No. 21 Georgia and South Florida.
Reitz is the first Osprey to receive ABCA All-Region recognition since Frank German in 2018.
