KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Junior North Florida basketball standout Carter Hendricksen was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2020-21 NABC Division I All-District 3 team as selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division I.
Hendricksen was tabbed a second-team honoree. He becomes the sixth player in program history to earn the accolade and marks the second consecutive season for UNF to have an honoree.
“This is a well-earned award for Carter,” said UNF head coach Matthew Driscoll. “Being voted on by head coaches makes this truly a respect driven team. Carter has all the skill sets, measurables and analytics making him a difficult challenge for opposing teams to prepare for and guard. He made his biggest jump as a player and person this season as he navigated into the role of ‘Best Player’ returning from a championship winning season, demonstrating mental toughness along with exceptional leadership ability. Carter is focused and determined to build on this year’s experiences and guide his teammates for another run at a conference title.”
An All-ASUN first-team selection, Hendricksen led the Ospreys and ranking sixth in the ASUN in scoring at 14.9 points per game. He was also listed among the league’s Top 20 in rebounding (4.9 RPG) and ranked third for 3PM/game at 2.89. He finished the season with double-figure points in 13 of the 16 games he played including a team best five games with 20-plus points. Off the floor, Hendricksen garnered the ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year accolade.
